This is a great bootleg from the 79 tour, happening just a couple days after the incident in Cincinnati. Myself and a couple buddies traveled up from Indy, got there a day early, stayed a couple days in the Sheraton, close by. About one in the afternoon, on show day, we ate lunch at a nearby Arby's, only to see they had opened the Silverdome early, to prevent a stampede, that occurred in Ohio. So we drove in the lot, got in about 4pm. Showtime wasn't till 7:30, with Blackfoot opening. So over 3 hours to wait. But by getting in early, we got some GREAT seats. Blackfoot played a great 50 min. set, all their hits, and a couple covers. The big movie at the time was "Close Encounters of the Third Kind", and Blackfoot's Rick Medlocke, during a solo, played the 5 note music tone that was a staple of the movie. The Silverdome capacity crowd went BONKERS!!! After a short intermission, it was time for THE WHO. Wow what a set, opening with Substitute, and running through 21 more . I'll never forget, towards the end, they did a killer "Dancing in the Streets". It was a great version of the Motown classic, and one of the main reasons why I bought this CD. The Blue RAY Bonus CD-R really is worth the purchase. After the show, it was back to the Sheraton, where we closed down their Bar, with a big crew from Canada, Eh, they were a hoot. Well after all that BUY THIS CD with the Bonus CD-R, it's well worth it.

this is a killer great live show from the infamous us tour in december of 1979, this show took place only 4 days after 9 people sadly where crushed to death at a who show in ohio on 12/3/79, anyway i mention that becouse you can hear pete and roger telling the crowd to calm down a hell of a lot, anyway GREAT SOUND almost soundboard quality here, both cds are SILVER FACTORY PRESSED and this comes with a BLUE RAY BONUS CDR that has superior sound and that disc only comes with this deluxe edition of this show, also this deluxe edition includes a japanese obi strip as well as a very cool live shot inlay from this very same 79 tour, great songs where played for over 2 hours here as you can see, some never played live again after 36 years now. if you liked the 1979 tour and the whos first with kenny jones THEN GET THIS DELUXE EDITION especially if you are a who collector like me, not to many of these where printed and for the cd media format THIS IS ONE OF THE NICEST WHO BOOTS from this tour, i personally felt this tour was the last great awesome who tour as the 82 tour things had got very watered down when it comes to the who live...again a very nice boot from japan...
